Finishing Specialist / Wood Coatings

The Coatings Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of Bassett Furniture’s wood product coatings, from product specifications and requirements,

designer drawings to first production audits,while working closely with domestic and Asian manufacturing facilities and coatings vendors.


  • Communicate daily with corporate and Asia (requires 7am-9am and 7pm-9pm email response) teams to ensure coatings specifications are consistently met;

  • Manage coating approval procedures;

  • Ensure compliance for product safety, testing and reporting standards;

  • Color stylist, study current trends, develop new finishes – bedroom, occasional, entertainment, accents and juvenile;

  • Evaluate and implement cutting edge technology;

  • Lead training efforts to promote understanding of coating standards with Bassett employees, retail partners and vendors;

  • Maintain reference library of color panels;

  • Produce POP, point of purchase color swatches.


  • Associate’s degree with at least 10 years of furniture manufacturing experience;

  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with domestic and international business partners;

  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma/5-S management processes;

  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.
