Regional Human Resources Manager

(Corporate Retail)

Bassett Furniture is looking for a Regional Human Resources Manager for our corporately owned retail stores in the Southwest (Arizona, Arkansas, California, Nevada and Texas). Reporting to the director, human resources, corporate retail, this position is responsible for administering human resources related functions, including associate relations, benefits, payroll, hiring/orientation and training.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Fostering and maintaining a work environment that encourages respect and equal opportunity, and is free from discriminatory or harassing behavior;

  • Administering Company policies and programs consistently and appropriately;

  • Communicating and administering benefit plans, including open enrollment;

  • Overseeing weekly payroll processing for commissioned and hourly pay;

  • Welcoming and orienting newly hired associates;

  • Investigating and resolving workplace issues in accordance with Company policy and consistent with applicable federal and state employment law;

  • Training store management on human resources related best practices, such as associate relations, corrective action and documentation.

    Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in human resources management;

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects;

  • Ability to listen with an “empathetic ear” and communicate effectively with associates throughout the organization, including management;

  • Possess a working knowledge of federal employment laws, such as EEO, FMLA and ADAA; and a willingness to learn applicable state employment laws;

  • Ability to travel.
